Questions about working with us

What does MLA approved mean?

The Master Locksmiths Association vets each company before approving it, inspects its work, and checks that its locksmiths are qualified. We are an MLA approved company, licence 003959. You can check our listing on the MLA website.

Do you repair door entry systems that someone else fitted?

Yes. A large part of our door entry work is fault finding on existing systems in tenement stairs and blocks of flats. If one handset, the panel or the lock release can be fixed on its own, we’ll tell you.

Which areas do you cover?

We work across Edinburgh, East Lothian, Midlothian and West Lothian. See the areas we cover for the towns in each.

Do you work for businesses and landlords as well as homeowners?

Yes. We work for homeowners, tenants, residents’ groups, landlords and businesses. We’re also PQS Health & Safety Approved (SSIP). See our page for factors and landlords.

Can you give me a price over the phone?

For a lock change we can often give a price once we know the type of door and lock, and a photo helps. For door entry, access control and door replacement we look at the job first, then send a quote before any work starts.
